WORLD’S BEST BROWNIES
MAKES 25 SQUARES
This decadent brownie is worth every single bite!
¾ c. (175 mL) unsalted butter
8 oz. (250g) bittersweet chocolate
4 eggs
2 c. (500 mL) granulated sugar
1 tsp. (5 mL) vanilla
1-¼ c. (300 mL) all purpose flour
1-½ tsp. (7 mL) baking powder
½ c. (125 mL) Skor bits (crumbled up toffee bar)*
½ c. (125 mL) fresh chopped walnuts
½ c. (125 mL) semi sweet chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 350F (180C). Grease a 9 inch (23 cm) square baking pan.
Melt butter and chocolate in saucepan. Cool slightly. Meanwhile beat eggs
and sugar together until ribbons form. Beat in vanilla. Gradually beat in
melted butter/chocolate mixture. Combine flour and baking powder and gradually
stir in. Fold in remaining ingredients. Bake in centre of preheated oven
for 1 hour or until a cake tester comes out almost clean.
*Crumble toffee bits are often found in the bulk foods department of the
grocery store. Alternatively, substitute with a prepared Skor bar and finely
crumble.
